EP-415 The use of gastrografin in the management of adhesive small bowel obstruction

Abstract Background Adhesive small bowel obstruction (aSBO) is a common surgical emergency causing high morbidity and even some mortality. The adhesions such obstructions (SBO) are typically the footprints of previous abdominal surgeries. National Audit Small Obstruction (NASBO) recommended that in patients not needing surgery for aSBO, gastrografin should be embedded clinical management. An audit was undertaken to see our adherence best practice management aSBO. Methods Data all who were admitted with SBO between April October 2020 obtained. This list filtered carefully extract had collected on signs intestinal ischaemia, administration progression, need length stay. Results 26 aSBO above period. Half needed an operation. Only 30% (8) received gastrografin. Conservative successful 62% (5/8) 38% (3/8) as they either ischaemia or failed pass through.
